A Ruby Award recipient is a woman who has had a significant impact on the lives of women and girls and inspires and encourages other women. The award gives our club the opportunity to say “thank you” and encourage others to explore ways to assist women. In addition to a certificate the club gives a donation to a charitable organization of the recipient’s choosing.

Our recipient this year is Ze Min Xiao, she’s the Director of Refugee Services at Salt Lake County, and has worked in this special capacity for the past 15 years.  Ze’s commitment to the refugee families as well as her dedication goes well beyond the 8-5 job of helping new Americans.

Ze applies innovative approaches to improving and expanding the effectiveness and efficiency of programs, include the creation and management of opportunities to better connect private investors, conveners, innovators and citizen change-makers to work more collaboratively.

​

She directs the development and implementation of new programs include securing funding, mobilizing key stakeholders, establishing strategic partnerships, solving unexpected problems, management of resources and the evaluation of outcome.

Ze works to make sure Salt Lake County's new Americans' economic, social, and civic potentials is maximized - making Salt Lake more vibrant, welcoming, and globally competitive.
