Soroptimist International of Salt Lake -
Violet Richardson Award – Honoring Young Women
for Volunteer Action
As a worldwide service organization, Soroptimist
International of the Americas established the
Violet Richardson Award. This award recognizes
young women between the ages of 14 and 17 who
make the community and world a better place
through volunteer efforts. These are merit
awards and are NOT based on academic
achievement. The Violet Richardson Award Program
underscores Soroptimist’s commitment to
volunteerism and to young women – the leaders of
the future.
25 clubs forward their individual winners to the
Region for a $1,000 award, with Region winners
competing for a $2,500 Federation award. Only
one winner is chosen at each level, and there
are 29 Regions competing in our Federation.
Soroptimist International of Salt Lake has
honored many exceptional students over the
years. Girls from different schools and
organizations are encouraged to participate.
Meet this year's winner.
