Soroptimist International of Salt Lake -
Margaret Embleton Award
Margaret Rebecca Embleton was a member of
Soroptimist International of Salt Lake from 1936
to 1999 when she died at 91. This award is in
remembrance of Margaret Embleton and her service
to the women and youth at-risk in the Salt Lake
area during her life.
The Margaret Embleton Award rewards and
acknowledges two Junior High School at-risk
girls who have improved their attendance,
citizenship, or have overcome obstacles as
students.
Two schools are identified each year to
participate in the Margaret Embleton Award.
The deserving students and family members are
then invited to a Soroptimist International of
Salt Lake Program Meeting to receive
a certificate of achievement and a gift. A
letter is also sent to the school for
presentation among peers.
Meet this year's winners.
